Tinnitus is involved in many diseases of the auditory system, the results of different pathological changes, the etiology is complex, the mechanism is unclear, mainly without corresponding external sound source or electrical stimulation, but subjective in the ear or intracranial sound perception. In clinical practice, it is not only the concomitant symptom of many diseases, but also the first symptom of some serious diseases (such as acoustic neuroma).
 Etiology
Auditory system disease
(1) External ear  canal embolism, tumor or foreign body.
(2) Middle ear  various otitis media, ear sclerosis.
(3) Inner ear  Meniere's disease of the, sudden deafness, trauma, noise-induced deafness and senile deafness.
2. Systemic diseases
(1) Cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, hypertension, hyperlipemia, arteriosclerosis.
(2) Autonomic dysfunction, mental stress, depression and so on.
(3) Endocrine diseases: thyroid dysfunction, diabetes and so on.
(4) Others: neurodegeneration (such as demyelinating disease), inflammation (viral infection), trauma, drug poisoning, cervical spondylosis, temporomandibular joint disease or malocclusion.
